The Animaya Zoo was built in 2010. This place, unlike the traditional zoológico Centenario, offers visitors to feel as if they were on a safari. Here the spaces are larger and your children will feel as if they were in the natural habitat of the more than 100 animals that exist. The concept refers to an ancient Mayan city abandoned and re-inhabited by animals.
The place is divided into 3 zones: American, Euro-Asian and African. In the same way you can tour it in the truck, on foot or do other of the 5 activities it offers. On the safari ride they will go aboard a small truck, which runs through the corridors between the animals where the children will be able to have more contact with them.
You can ride around the lake on a catamaran that leaves every 10 minutes and only fits 18 people. The guide will tell you about the flora and fauna, all lasting approximately 20 minutes. You can also enjoy walking while observing the great variety of species that are free. I recommend that if you choose to walk you take a stroller.
Do not forget to go up to the viewpoint that has a height of 35 meters, where you can see the entire park from above. Likewise, this park has a water park for children from 4 to 14 years of age. If you forgot to bring food here there is a little shop and restaurant.

Fuimos el año pasado y me sorprendio ver el aviario sin jaulas. Pudimos ver de cerca aves endémicas como los tucanes, guacamayas, cuervos, y periquitos. Y otros dentro de espacios cercados supongo que es para protección de las aves como pavos reales, cisnes, patos y flamingos. Fue una super experiencia.
