Escuela Viva es un nuevo formato escolar que llegó este año a Playa del Carmen. Sus inscripciones inician desde Abril, sin embargo el ciclo escolar será el 2022 – 2023. Tienen niveles desde kinder 1 hasta secundaria. Este escuela se ubica en el centro. Sus instalaciones son grandes y con espacios abiertos con aire fresco. Un jardín para que los niños realicen sus actividades. Un espacio de recreación para su lunch.
A diferencia de las escuelas alternativas en Playa, Escuela Viva trae una propuesta de metodología democrática, bilingüe y auto dirigida. Cada aula tiene grupos heterogéneos, es decir, que habrá niños de diferentes edades. Por ejemplo, en una misma aula estarán kinder 1 a kinder 3. Pero tendrán 3 propuestas con diferente dificultad según el tema a tratar. Este sistema es innovador, inclusivo y se enfoca en cuidar la educación emocional del niño. No utilizan libros, exámenes, uniformes ni tareas para realizar en casa.
Aquí los maestros son guías del auto aprendizaje, ayudándolos a razonar para que el aprendizaje sea perdurable. El ambiente en el que estarán los pequeños será estable, evitando comparaciones y burlas entre compañeros. Igualmente en la parte académica, evitando que se aprenda de manera memorizable. Los horarios son flexibles y con una rutina establecida. Aunque no pertenecen a la SEP , brindan la preparación para los exámenes del INEA o Stanford 10 dentro del horario escolar sin costo adicional.
