Crecer Verde es una comunidad educativa no escolarizada de método auto dirigido donde participan maestros y padres voluntarios. El objetivo de este tipo de educación tan innovadora es respetar el proceso de aprendizaje del niño bajo su propia responsabilidad.
Este proyecto llego a Playa hace aproximadamente 8 años, cuando su fundadora la Psicóloga Angélica Rodríguez, comenzó su búsqueda de una educación no tradicional para su hijo. Ella comenzó con estimulación en niños y con homeschooling. Pronto se dio cuenta de la importancia del contacto humano, de pertenecer a una comunidad y del bien común. De esta manera comenzó los talleres los miércoles y viernes en Parque La Ceiba.
Tres años después conoció a promotores de aprendizaje autodirigido, se acercó a ellos y asistió a entrenamientos. En este punto varias familias solicitaban que el horario fuera de lunes a viernes, y así comenzó CRECER VERDE a impartir educación de una manera más formal. Después de mucho tiempo ahora pertenece la Red de Centros de aprendizaje.
Los niveles son a partir de 6 años hasta el nivel secundaria. Actualmente ofrece un servicio de After school en donde se ofrece talleres cada semana de 4 a 7 pm. Nos encanta porque los niños aprenden mientras exploran libremente. Es una comunidad verdadera y un espacio amoroso donde crecer.
