El Colegio Americano es una de las escuelas más populares en Playa del Carmen. Esta escuela se localiza en el ejido norte a unas cuadras de la Av. Constituyentes. Su metodología es constructivista y es bilingüe en el idioma inglés. Ofrece a nuestros hijos una educación integral mulideportiva y poliglota, ya que tienen introducción a 7 idiomas a través de la metodología neurolingüística. Fomentan entre los niños los valores y ética además de un alto nivel académico. Cuentan con 1 salón por nivel y aceptan hasta 20 niños por salón.
Sus instalaciones son medianas, tienen baños en todos los niveles, separados por niños y niñas. Tienen un patio grande con una cancha y esta techado. Cada salón esta equipado por bancas individuales, libreros, equipo de proyección, ventilación y son de tamaño mediano. Están incorporados a la SEP, sin embargo entro de su método de enseñanza se integran materias que ayudan a los niños al desarrollo socioemocional.
Los maestros e inclusive el director siempre están pendientes de cada pequeño por lo que la comunicación con los padres es muy buena. Las colegiaturas rondan los $1,800 a $3,000 pesos y el nivel académico es muy bueno. Ofrecen becas de la SEP y tienen promociones a lo largo del año para las inscripciones. Dentro de sus servicios ofrecen tiempo extendido, actividades extracurriculares como baile y música, así como cursos de verano. A lo largo del año llevan a cabo diferentes ferias como la de ciencia y festividades como día del niño, día de la madre, del padre, San Patricks day.

El personal es muy atento el ambiente es muy familiar, los niños no sufren bullyng y este tema es uno de lo que mas nos importa. Las colegiaturas son muy accesibles y el nivel académico es bastante competitivo.
