Acerca de Cenote Yax kin

Cenote Yax kin is one of the lesser known and therefore not as crowded as most cenotes in Tulum. It does not have many signs to get there, but it is located going from Playa del Carmen to Tulum on the highway about 7 minutes before reaching the Archaeological Zone. To get there it is easier to arrive by car, since if you take public transport you have to walk 10 minutes from the road to the entrance of the cenote.

The place is very nice and it is not very big but it has everything you need. Upon arrival you will find the ticket office where they also sell chips, soft drinks, rent vests, fins and visors. The entrance fee is from $100 pesos and they do not charge parking. In the upper part to one side of the ticket office are the bathrooms and there is an outdoor shower. About 5 meters away there are palapas with trunk seats for you to eat your food.

The cenotes are at the bottom along with a small restaurant. Going down there are two entrances to the cenote. We like it for children since the depth on the banks is from 30 to 50 cm. We recommend this area for children, however due to the type of rocks it is advisable to wear water shoes as it is a bit slippery. Around the cenote there are areas with lounge chairs. The part in the middle is the deepest, it can measure up to 5 meters. There is a cenote that is located in the back of the place but it is not open to the public.
