La Playa 88 es una de las 3 playas con certificación Blue Flag de Playa del Carmen. Se localiza casi al final de la Quinta Avenida. Últimamente se ha hecho más popular por lo que los fines de semana, después del medio día, la encontrarás abarrotada. Lo que más nos gusta son sus instalaciones. Cuenta con sanitarios y regaderas con costo de $5 pesos por persona.
Además de tener personal de seguridad en la entrada de 9:00 a 17:00 hrs. En la entrada hay estacionamiento únicamente para motos, bicicletas y para personas de la tercera edad o capacidades diferentes que tengan auto. Así mismo, hay depósitos donde puedes dejar tus tapas y botellas de plástico para reciclaje.
Dentro de la playa hay 6 palapas de uso gratuito las cuales están abiertas al publico en general. Si quieres apartar una, tienes que dejar tu identificación en la entrada, esto aplica únicamente en el horario de vigilancia. Este pedacito de playa es limpiado continuamente y está libre de sargazo la mayor parte del tiempo ya que cuenta con una red especial que impide su paso. El oleaje es bajo y la arena es muy suave. No cuenta con tiendas cercanas por lo que te sugiero lleves o compres tus bebidas y snacks.

Nos encanta ir a esta playa pero por las mañanas que no hay gente, y por las tardes hay unos chicos que venden pizza y calzone muy ricos!
