Acerca de Planetario Arcadio Poveda

The Arcadio Poveda Planetarium is a small planetarium that is located in the basement of the Olympic Cultural Center. It was created in 2003 by one of the first astronomers in Mexico, which bears his name. The observation room has a capacity of 70 people.

Here different presentations are projected that change every 6 months. Videos are digitally projected onto the large dome ceiling accompanied by music, sound effects and narration. It is air-conditioned so it can be a half-day escape with the little ones.

Mainly topics of astrology, natural sciences, biology, zoology and archeology are presented. It is suitable for all ages, however, I recommend the projections of galaxies, the sun and the animal themes for younger children.

You have to arrive 15 minutes before each screening since once it starts you can no longer enter. The cost is very affordable. On the outskirts there is a small art gallery, library and a cafeteria so that they can complement your visit. At the moment they do not have playful activities for children.
