If your children love history then the Mayan Museum is a place they should visit. It is located in the heart of the hotel zone and you can get there by car or public transport. This year marks 10 years since its inauguration and offering an excellent service.
Here you have the opportunity to appreciate one of the most important archaeological collections of the Mayan culture. There is also an exhibition of pieces found in places like Chichen Itzá, Palenque or Comalcalco. There are three important rooms that your tour includes.
Your ticket to the museum includes a pass to the archaeological zone of San Miguelito, a space with 4 groups where large families are thought to have lived in the years before the Spanish conquest. It also has an incredible view of the Nichupté lagoon. For Mexicans, admission is free on Sundays on presentation of identification.
